Don’t believe this picture of PM Modi; here’s the truth behind the viral picture

A picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing rounds on social media in which he can be seen reading a book.

In the picture, the title of the book read: “जनता को बेवक़ूफ़ बनाने के 101 रामबाण उपाय” (Translation: “101 panacea measures to fool the public”)

At the time of filing this report, the above picture was shared by over 1,900 Facebook users.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above picture and found it to be FAKE.

On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found the original picture on PM Modi’s official website.

As we can see in the original picture, the title of the book is – “Kutch: A Pictorial Journey”.

The picture was clicked on April 30th, 2013 during the inauguration of 2nd Ahmedabad National Book Fair.

In the above FAKE vs REAL collage, it is clear that the original picture of PM Modi was manipulated using photo editing software.
