Narendra Modi has taken oath as India’s prime minister for the second consecutive term after a landslide victory by BJP led NDA getting a total of 353 seats.
The swearing-in ceremony of the PM was administered by President Ram Nath Kovind and a number of prominent leaders are currently taking the oath to be part of the Union cabinet including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, ex-foreign secretary S Jaishankar and Smriti Irani, among others.

Apart from the usual names in the cabinet, two former diplomats – S Jaishankar and Hardeep Singh Puri have been included in the Council of Ministers for Modi 2.0. Former Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar has taken the oath to be part of the union cabinet.
Hardeep Singh Puri has also taken the oath to be part of the Union Cabinet. In the previous Modi government, Puri served as Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
