Women group slam ‘The Wire’ for providing Vinod Dua platform to slam #metoo

NWMI said that the first video of the show ‘Jan Gan Man Ki Baat: ‘Rafale Deal and Rising Fuel Prices’ was uploaded on Tuesday, October 16. In which Dua said the media was not asking the government questions on “real issues”, and was instead preoccupied with stories of “who sexually harassed whom how many years ago”.

“A Union minister has also been named … and there has been some muck thrown at me too… I will mention this too,” he had said on the show. In his closing remarks on the show, he said, “Some dirt has been flung at me – not of sexual harassment but troubling.”

The Wire removed the first video and later uploaded another version of the show, editing out Dua’s comments mocking.

The network asked the news website to refrain from indulging in shaming the victim.

The wire tweeted stating that the editors unreservedly apologise for the manner in which the allegation was trivialised in the last episode of Vinod Dua’s ‘Jan Gan Man Ki Baat’.
