Fact Check: Did the Home Minister snap broadband and mobile connections in Ladakh and J&K?

A screenshot of a tweet attributed to Home Minister Amit Shah is going viral. The tweet claims that the Home Minister had announced the shutting down of internet in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

“Fixed-line broadband and mobile internet connection in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh will be snapped from tonight” the tweet dated June 29, 2020, read.

NewsMobile fact-checked the above screenshot and found it to be FAKE as Home Minister, Amit Shah hasn’t tweeted anything from his official Twitter handle.

Later, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Home affairs came out with a tweet from his official handle and dismissed it to be true.

In conclusion, the above information proves that the has not taken any decision of suspending internet services in Jammu and Kashmir as the tweet in question has been falsely attributed to Home Minister Amit Shah.
