COVID-19 | Top 10 developments in India this Monday morning

With 11,502 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, COVID infections in India on Monday rose to over 3,32,424. The country also reported 325 deaths, taking the toll to 9,520.

While 1,69,798 lakh people have recovered, there are 1,53,106 lakh active cases in the country, according to the Ministry of Health.

Here’s are the top 10 developments in India this morning:

1. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called an all-party meeting on Monday to review the COVID-19 health crisis in the national capital.

2. The Indian Railways on Sunday said it has deployed 204 coaches-turned-isolation wards so far after the demand from states.

3. 2,224 COVID-19 cases – highest single-day spike – and 56 deaths reported in Delhi on Sunday. Total number of cases in the national capital is now at 41,182, including 15,823 recovered/discharged/migrated, 24,032 active cases and 1327 deaths: Health Department

4. 3,390 COVID-19 cases and 120 deaths reported in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours. Total number of cases in the state is now at 1,07,958, including 50,978 discharged, and 3,950 deaths: Maharashtra Health Department

5. The Railways resumed limited suburban train services in the Mumbai on Monday morning only for those engaged in essential services amid the coronavirus pandemic.

6. 23 journalists have tested positive for #COVID19 in Telangana today. So, far 60 journalists have contracted the disease & one of them died. The total number of cases in the state is now at 4,974, including 2,377 discharged, 2412 active cases, and 185 deaths.

7. 511 fresh COVID-19 cases and 29 deaths reported in Gujarat during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 23,590 including 16,333 recoveries and 1478 deaths: State Health Department

8. Train services have been suspended from Monday at Anand Vihar railway station as all of its platforms have been reserved for the deployment of isolation coaches for coronavirus patients. All five trains running from this station will now operate from Old Delhi railway station.

9. 459 COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths reported in Haryana on Sunday. Total number of cases in the state is now at 7208, including 3,003 recovered/discharged, 4117 active cases and 88 deaths: State Health Department

10. 41 COVID-19 cases reported in Goa on Sunday, taking the total number of cases to 564 including 74 recoveries: Goa Health Department
