The ideal way to maintain oral hygiene is to brush twice a day minimum. It is a habit to roll out of bed in the morning and head to brush our teeth. But besides these things, you need to work a lot more to maintain oral hygiene and dental health.
As per a study published in the Journal of Dental Hygiene, the longer you brush your teeth, the more plaque you remove. The study also found that people who brushed their teeth for 45 seconds removed 25% less plaque than people who brushed for two minutes.
It is important to brush your teeth for a minimum of two minutes and twice a day. When you start brushing, you might feel that two minutes is a lot but to get everything cleaned you need to take two minutes.
You also need to be careful in terms of the pressure and excessive or tremendous pressure can harm the gums.
Apart from brushing, use mouthwash and floss your teeth on a regular basis. Flossing helps to clean the plaque stuck in between your teeth and mouthwash helps keep your mouth fresh. Use alcohol-free mouthwash, so it does not dry your mouth.
