Two dead, four injured in shootout at University of North Carolina

At least two people were killed while four others sustained injuries after a gunman opened fire on Tuesday night (local time) in the University of North Carolina campus.

According to reports, of the four who were injured, two are being treated for ‘life-threatening injuries’.

Police said a person has been taken into custody in connection with the shootout.

The University of North Carolina, which has around 30,000 students, has been under lockdown following reports of the shooting.
