Rahul Gandhi slams Defence Minister, says ‘she must resign’

Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman should resign over the Rafale Deal. Launching a scathing attack on Nirmala Sitharaman. Rahul said she has been “tasked with defending corruption”.

“She has been caught lying again on the Rafale deal. Her position is untenable and she must resign,” he said.

Rahul was responding to a report published in the Hindustan Times where former chief of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) RS Raju was quoted as saying that the Rifale fighter plane could have been manufactured in India and HAL had the capability to do it.

Gandhi quoted the news report in his tweet attack to say that former HAL chief, TS Raju, had “nailed” Sitharaman’s “lie”. Her position, he said, had become “untenable”.
