Brother of an IPS officer joins terror outfit, claims Hizbul Mujahideen

On the second death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani, the terror organisation on Sunday flooded social media with the pictures of the youth in their organisation who had joined in the past few months.

The pictures include that of Shams ul Haq Mengnoo, who was pursuing his bachelor’s degree from Srinagar in Unani medicine and is the brother of an IPS officer who is posted in the North-East. Shams (in his 20s) went missing on May 22 and in the pictures was seen holding a gun with Burhan Sani ( Burhan, the second) which was written on it.

The pictures include a dozen names from south Kashmir’s Shopian, Kulgam, Anantnag and Pulwama, four from north Kashmir’s Kupwara, Handwara, and Baramulla, and one from central Kashmir’s Budgam.

Burhan Wani was shot dead in an encounter by the Indian security forces in Srinagr on July 8, 2016 which erupted massive protest in the Srinagar valley.
