Jammu and Kashmir: Three civilians were killed and five were injured in the clashes happening between forces and civilians where the civilians were throwing stones on the forces in Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.

Shakir Ahmed Khanday, Irshad Majeed and a teenaged girl named Andleeb died of their injuries in hospitals after clashes in Redwani village where the army was on a survey. According to the reports, people there said that a team on patrolling were hurdled with stones when the army started open firing.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a senior Hurriyat Conference leader, said that the firing from the army was ‘indiscriminating’ and accused the army saying that the incident was a ‘massacre’.

Protesters blocked roads in different parts of south Kashmir and authorities switched off the mobile internet in the Anantnag and many other regions after the deaths.
