Borno: In a tragic event on Saturday, at least 18 people have lost their lives and 48 others have been injured in a series of bomb blasts in Nigeria’s northeast Borno state, as reported by CNN, citing the state’s emergency services.
The tragic events unfolded on Saturday, with the first explosion targeting a wedding ceremony at approximately 3 pm (local time). This was followed by a second blast at General Hospital Gwoza and a third at a funeral, causing widespread devastation and fear in the region.
Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Director General Barkindo Muhammad Saidu Barkindo Muhammad Saidu visited the site of the incident in Gwoza Town, CNN reported.
According to Borno State Emergency Management Agency-SEMA, men, women and children were among the deceased, the report said. No further details were provided regarding the incident.
