Australia Ends Five-Match Losing Streak, Registers 66-Run Win Against India

New Delhi: Australia secured a comfortable all-round victory against India, putting an end to their five-match losing streak in the final ODI at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Wednesday. 

India fell short by 66 runs as they were all bowled out for 286 runs. However, despite Australia winning the match, India clinched the series 2-1 by securing victory in two consecutive games out of the three-match series.

Chasing a mammoth total, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma led from the front, scoring 81 runs off 57 balls, while star batsman Virat Kohli contributed 56 runs off 61 balls. Shreyas Iyer also managed to score 48 runs off 43 balls, while Ravindra Jadeja added 35 runs and KL Rahul scored 26 runs.

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell emerged as the leading wicket-taker with four dismissals. Following him, Josh Hazlewood secured two wickets, while Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Cameron Green, and Tanveer Sangha each managed to take one wicket.

Australia’s opening batsmen, Mitch Marsh and David Warner, showcased a formidable batting performance, leading their team to a massive total of 352 runs while losing seven wickets against.

Australia looked confident with the bat throughout the innings and showcased aggressive batting. Mitchell Marsh emerged as the top run scorer with 96 runs off 83 balls, while David Warner played an explosive inning and scored a quick half-century, accumulating 56 runs off just 34 balls.

Continuing the momentum with the bat, Australia’s star batsmen, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne, scored 74 runs off 61 balls and 72 runs off 58 balls.

Jasprit Bumrah was the highest wicket-taker with three wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav secured two wickets. Additionally, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna each took one wicket.
