Washington: US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has said that the partnership between India and the US has reached new heights with collaboration on technology and other fields.
At a White House News Conference, Jake Sullivan told the media that the partnership between the US and India, a country in BRICs has gone to new heights with an engagement across technology and security and many other dimensions. Sullivan answered questions on the decline in American leadership in the world amid Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, UAE and Saudi Arabia joining BRICs.
Sullivan said that the role of the US and its standing in its relationships with major countries of the world US feels good about where it stands. In an attempt to refute the charge he said that If everyone looks at what’s happened with NATO, they’ve made NATO larger than ever, he also talked about a historic trilateral with the US, Japan, and the Philippines which took place this week. He added that if we look across the Indo-Pacific at how we’ve upgraded our relations not just with traditional allies, but with the likes of Vietnam, Indonesia, and ASEAN as a whole.
The NSA added that President Biden will welcome the President of Kenya for a state visit to the US which he said is a historic moment. He said that the President has hosted all of the leaders of the Pacific islands, and he also hosted the leaders of Africa at a summit in the United States. He said that the United States has increased its investments in the infrastructure, physical, digital, energy infrastructure in the Americas, Africa and Southeast Asia and beyond.
Sullivan added that the US has expressed its concerns to China about inputs to Russia’s industrial base. He said that the US has not seen direct evidence that China will provide direct military aid to Russia. But the US has expressed concerns about input to Russia’s defence industrial base which Secretary Blinken talked about in Europe last week.
