Spanish AI Model Pulls In Monthly Earnings Of Almost Rs 3 Lakh

New Delhi: The rapid progress in the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) has generated concerns, with tech titans like Elon Musk warning about its potential consequences. During a recent AI Safety Summit in London, Musk informed Prime Minister Rishi Sunak that AI could render jobs obsolete. This prediction appears to be materializing as a Spanish influencer agency introduces an AI model named Aitana Lopez, designed after a 25-year-old woman with pink hair, boasting 122,000 followers on Instagram, as reported by Euronews.

The outlet said that Aitana regularly receives private messages each week from celebrities expressing romantic interest.

“We started analysing how we were working and realised that many projects were being put on hold or cancelled due to problems beyond our control. Often it was the fault of the influencer or model and not due to design issues,” Ruben Cruz, the designer of agency The Clueless, told Euronews.

The agency uses Aitana when approached by brands.

Cruz said that the virtual model has the potential to generate monthly earnings of up to 10,000 euros (over Rs 9 lakh), but the typical amount is approximately 3,000 euros (Rs 2.72 lakh).

“We did it so that we could make a better living and not be dependent on other people who have egos, who have manias, or who just want to make a lot of money by posing,” said Cruz.

Aitana has become the face of Big, a company specializing in sports supplements, and she also shares her photos on Fanvue, a platform akin to OnlyFans.

“One day, a well-known Latin American actor texted to ask her out. This actor has about 5 million followers and some of our team watched his TV series when they were kids. He had no idea Aitana didn’t exist,” said Mr Cruz.

The team responsible for Aitana’s creation convenes weekly to shape her virtual life. During these meetings, team members determine her weekly activities, planned destinations, and the photos to be shared.

The process involves no traditional photo shoots or wardrobe changes; instead, a combination of AI and design principles is applied using Photoshop.

Aitana’s success has prompted her designers to craft a second virtual model named Maia, described as “a little more shy.” Both names carry the acronym for artificial intelligence (AI), signifying a deliberate choice in their nomenclature.
