New Delhi: In a recent reshuffle within the UK government, David Cameron has been named the new Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs. This change comes in the wake of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s decision to dismiss Home Secretary Suella Braverman.
Additionally, James Cleverly was appointed Secretary of State for the Home Department.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak dismissed Home Secretary Suella Braverman on Monday following her recent comments sharply criticising the police’s approach to the pro-Palestinian march, according to a report by Reuters.
As per reports, Prime Minister Sunak was under pressure and dismissed Braverman for her recent Times UK article, where she criticised the Metropolitan Police for their perceived leniency towards certain radical elements during pro-Palestine rallies.
Earlier on October 10, Braverman issued a warning to police chiefs for displaying Palestinian flags on the streets of the UK. She stated that waving the flag “may not be legitimate” if it is viewed as a show of support for terrorism, according to a media report.
