Watch: PM Modi Receives Warm Welcome in Papua New Guinea, PM Marape Touches His Feet

Papua New Guinea : PM Modi, who is on a three-nation trip, reached Papua New Guinea on Sunday. At Port Moresby, Modi, the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the island nation was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, James Marape who touched PM Modi’s feet seeking his blessings.

PM Modi received a 19-gun salute and guard of honour upon his arrival and was accorded the guard of honour at Port Moresby. Modi also met the Indian diaspora in the island country.

Before PM Modi reached the island nation, he was in the Japanese city of Hiroshima for the G7 summit and the QUAD meeting, where he met several world leaders and discussed various matters. Prime Minister Modi also met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy; it was his first meeting since the war between Russia and Ukraine.

PM Modi, in his talks with the Ukrainian president, assured him that India is doing all it can to resolve the issue.

PM Modi will be visiting Australia to complete his three-nation trip before heading home.
