Fact Check: Edited Image Of PM Modi Linked To Congress’s Claim Of Corruption In Adani’s ‘Shell Companies’

Date:

After Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification as a Lok Sabha MP due to a conviction in a 2019 defamation case, he made fierce statements during a press conference on March 25. He asserted that his disqualification was a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fear of his upcoming speech about Adani. Rahul Gandhi claimed that there was a strong connection between Narendra Modi and Adani, and questioned about ₹20,000 crore that have been invested in the shell companies of the Adani group.

Against this backdrop, an image showing PM Modi looking at a huge board with the text “20000 करोड़ रुपए किसके हैं?” written on it is widely shared on social media.

The image is shared on Facebook with a caption: “सवाल अब भी वही है 20000 करोड रुपए किसके हैं? सवाल है कि पीछा ही नहीं छोड़ता!”
