Delhi University To Send Notice To Rahul Gandhi Over Surprise Visit

Date:

New Delhi: Delhi University to send a notice to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi warning him against any further “unauthorized” visits to the campus.

This comes after the recent incident where the congress leader met with hostel students.

Delhi University Registrar Vikas Gupta said that the notice will be sent in the coming days; he also added that this kind of incident puts students’ safety at risk.

The student wing of the Congress party, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), alleged that the action against Rahul Gandhi by the administration was taken under pressure.

Refusing the allegations, the Delhi University registrar said, “There is no such pressure. It is a matter of discipline.” and also said that the university administration will take the necessary steps to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

The university had previously criticized Rahul Gandhi, who paid a visit to a men’s post-graduate hostel at Delhi University, for his unauthorised visit, where he also shared a meal with the hostel students.
