Delhi: Two Delivery Executives Thrashed For Not Having Change Of Money

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, two delivery executives of online grocery store ‘Blinkit’ were allegedly beaten in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area over not having loose change.

According to Delhi Police, the delivery executives identified as Aman and Gurpal Singh were physically assaulted by a customer when they delivered the order at his residence.

According to reports, Singh in a complaint alleged that they went to deliver items worth ₹1,655 to Tarun Suri’s residence. He further alleged that Suri started misbehaving with them for not having a change of money.

Ghandhyam Bansal, DCP (west), said that three to four people ‘thrashed’ the delivery executives over the issue.

A Blinkit spokesperson quoted by PTI added that “We have issued necessary support and cooperation to the authorities to aid their investigation. The safety and well-being of our delivery partners is of utmost importance to us. We have taken immediate action to provide healthcare support and loss of pay for the affected delivery partner to ensure they have all they need to prioritize their recovery,”.

Police further added that they have registered a case under 295A, 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC.
