Mumbai: Decomposed Body Of Woman Found In Plastic Bag, Daughter Arrested

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a decomposed body of a 53-year-old woman was found stuffed in a plastic bag in the Lalbaug area on Wednesday.

A senior police officer while speaking with ANI confirmed that “The deceased woman was identified as Veena Prakash Jain.”

The police have further taken into custody the 22-year-old daughter of the deceased woman for questioning.

Talking about the details of the case, the police officer added that “Parts of her body, like her arms and legs, were chopped off with a sharp weapon. Police found the body in a plastic bag kept in a cupboard. In such a situation, the FSL team was also called late in the night and the Panchnama of the entire flat was done,”

According to reports, the crime came to light when the brother and nephew of the deceased woman approached the police station on Tuesday and reported her as missing.

The police have registered the case at the Kalachowki Police station and a probe is underway.
