An image of a cricket stadium surrounded by tall cliffs is widely shared on social media, claiming that this is the Gwadar cricket stadium located in Balochistan, Pakistan.
The image is shared on Facebook with a caption: “The Gwadar #cricket stadium in Balochistan, Pakistan, has one of the most stunning backdrops in the world. Why not #PSL2023 matches here at #Gwadar? #balochistan ICC – International Cricket Council PCB – Pakistan Cricket Board PSL 3 Media #PSL2023”

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be MISLEADING.
With the Reverse Image Search, we spotted the website “Modern Green Structures and Architecture”, which features the same stadium with a title: “Prem Nath – Prem Nath & Associates.” But we noted that there were no cliffs surrounding the stadium in this image.
The same image was also found on the website of PremNath.com. This concept model shows a modern cricket stadium among helipads and gardens.
Below is the comparison between the viral image and the concept image.
Searching further for images of the Gwadar stadium, we identified an image on Facebook posted by the International Cricket Council, dated January 31, 2021.
Dawn newspaper in Pakistan also carries images of the stadium. And based on the images, the stadium is located precisely where the viral image shows it to be. The stadium, however, didn’t resemble the one in the viral image at all. To see if any renovation work was being done to this stadium, we looked for news stories but failed.
Thus, it is evident from the above information that the viral image does not show Pakistan’s Gwadar stadium.
