Bridge Collapses After Landslide In Himachal’s Chamba, Traffic Halted

Chamba: Traffic on Chamba-Bharmour National Highway came to a grinding halt after a bridge collapsed following a landslide incident in Himachal’s Chamba district on Sunday morning.

According to officials, the incident took place in the Loona area in Bharmour village on the outskirts of Chamba district.

A District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) official said that “ In the Incident bridge has totally collapsed and (NH-154 A) Chamba to Bharmour has been totally snapped,”.

The official further added that no casualty has been reported after the incident. According to Chamba Deputy Commissioner D C Rana, it was a 20 meters long bridge on the national highway 154-A that connects the Bharmour subdivision (tribal area) with Chamba.

Rana added, “Road connectivity to the entire area has been disrupted after the incident,”.
