FIFA World Cup 2022: Defending Champion France Will Take On Morocco In Second Semi Finals

Date:

Doha: After a magical Messi affair in the first semi-finals game, defending champions France will take on Morocco in the second semis at the Al Bayt Stadium at 12:30 am (IST).

France is the dominant front as the side will be looking to ease out the pressure while showcasing the flair of both muscle, speed, and strength. With Kylian Mbappe’s form and consistency, the striker will be looking to tally equal with Lionel Messi at the age of 23 years.

French Head coach Didier Deschamps is one of only three men to have won the World Cup both as a player and as a manager. The side brings depth with players like Griezmann who continue to point games and make chances for the side.

For Morocco, the World Cup has been a glorious run all around. Their ground-breaking run to the FIFA World Cup semi-finals has unleashed a torrent of emotions, Walid Regragui, the man who has guided the north Africans to Wednesday’s showdown with France said that his team is looking forward to causing another ‘upset’ as they take on defending champions.

He said that “It’s a great challenge for us. We came up against the last runner-up [Croatia] and third team [Belgium], so practically all the best teams in the world. Now this may be the toughest challenge. We respect them, and we’ll give our best, as we’ve been doing it since the start of the competition, to create an upset because obviously, if we achieve this feat, it will be upset,”.

Morocco have already made history by being the first African team to reach the World Cup quarterfinals, and their ambitious aim of reaching the World Cup final will be put to the test against Didier Deschamps’ defending world champions.
