Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu Named Next CM Of Himachal Pradesh, Oath-Taking Ceremony Tomorrow

Shimla: The Congress high command on Saturday announced Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu as the next Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel announced Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu as the next CM. He further added that Mukesh Agnihotri will be the Deputy Chief Minister of the hill state.

The oath-taking ceremony will take place on 11th December. Chief Minister Designate Sukhu said that “I am thankful to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and the people of the state.”

He further added that “Our govt will bring change. It is my responsibility to fulfill the promises we made to the people of Himachal Pradesh. We have to work for the development of the state”.

Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was elected from the Nadaun in Hamirpur district on Thursday after defeating Vijay Agnihotri of the BJP by a margin of 3,363 votes.

Earlier while speaking with newswire agency ANI he said that “We are all carrying forward his (former Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh) legacy. The Congress party is moving forward by ensuring harmony among all the people. We are all representing the Congress party,”.
