New Delhi: Billionaire Mukesh Ambani has reportedly shown interest in buying the renowned English Football Club Liverpool FC.
According to the Mirror, Ambani will have to fend off interest from parties in the Middle East and the US in order to acquire the famed English football team, Liverpool.
The report added that the Fenway Sports Group (FSG), who earlier bought the Merseyside club in 2010 has appointed Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to assist them in selling the club.
The report further added that FSG is willing to sell the English club for 4 billion pounds. Mukesh Ambani, rated as one of the richest persons in the world, had enquired about the club.
Mukesh Ambani had earlier teamed up with billionaire Subrata Roy to takeover Liverpool back in 2010 by offering £237m debt in return for a 51 percent stake in the club.
According to an official statement released by the FSG, they have received several offers from third parties seeking to become stakeholders in Liverpool. The statement further added that “under the right terms and conditions, we would consider new shareholders if it was in the best interests of Liverpool as a club.”
Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp’s management has won a Premier League title, a Champions League Title, FA Cup, Carabao Cup in the past few years.
