Ben Stokes Shines In Finals As England Lifts T20 World Cup Trophy

Melbourne: Ben Stokes leads the innings as England beat Pakistan by five wickets and became the T20 World Champions.

With this, England became the champions of both the T20 and ODI World Cup. Ben Stokes played a balanced inning of 52 runs while chasing the low score target of 137 runs in the finals.

England won the toss and elected to bowl first. Skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan gave an impactful start to Pakistan’s innings. However, Rizwan failed to score big and was dismissed by Sam Curran.

Adil Rashid bowled a crucial spell and dismissed Babar Azam for 32 runs. Sam Curran picked up three wickets in his spell while Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan managed to secure two wickets each.

England’s opening pair was dismantled by Shaheen Afridi as he dismissed Alex Hales in the first over. One of the crucial turning points of the match was the injury of Shaheen Afridi as he had to leave the ground.

England’s Moen Ali and Stokes led the side to an ultimate win in the finals while facing a fired up Pakistan bowling attack.
