A viral video of a man distributing a liquor bottle and chicken to people is doing rounds on social media. Many users are sharing this with a claim that the man is a BJP leader and he is giving freebies to voters.
A Facebook user posted the viral image with the caption: ਇਹ ਜਮਾ ਸਿਰਾ ਲਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ (English Translation: They do the best )
The text on the video translates to,”Only BJP can do it…An episode with live chickens.”

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral image and found the claims to be misleading.
To check the authenticity of the claim we started our investigation by running a Google Keyword Search about the incident. While we could not find any news related to any BJP leader distributing chicken and alcohol, we found multiple videos of a TRS leader doing so.
A YouTube video titled: TRS Distributes Chicken, Alcohol Bottles Ahead Of KCR’s Entry Into National Politics, published on the official channel of Times Now on October 5, 2022, corroborated the same.
According to the video, the man in question was Rajanala Srihari, a TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) leader, and he was distributing freebies ahead of the launch of a national party by Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao. The keyframes of the video in the news report match with that of the viral video and related news reports could be found on sites of various national media houses including Republic World, India Today and Zee News among others.
Searching about the video further, we came across a tweet by BJP State General Secretary, Andhra Pradesh, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy dated October 4, 2022. As per the tweet, TRS leaders were seen distributing freebies. Reddy had also tagged TRS president KT Rama Rao in his tweet.
Finally, we found an October 4, 2022, tweet on the official handle of news agency ANI with a longer video. The keyframes from 2:04 to 2:32, of the video in the tweet, match exactly with the viral video, proving that the distribution was indeed done by TRS leaders and has nothing to do with the BJP.
Therefore, based on our investigation, we can conclusively say that the viral video, claiming that BJP leaders distributed free chicken and alcohol, is misleading.
