“GNA’s DNA Has Been Modi-Fied”: Jairam Ramesh On Gulam Nabi Azad’s Resignation

Date:

New Delhi: Soon after Ghulam Nabi Azad’s criticism on Rahul Gandhi and his coterie, and resigned from the party, the Congress hit back.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh tweeted on Friday, alleged his (Azad) betrayal reveals his true character and that ‘GNA’s DNA has been modi-fied.’

The ‘modi-fied’ in the tweet could be considered a reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and could be interpreted that Azad betrayed Congress to join BJP.

Ghulam Nabi Azad in a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday resigned from all positions of the Congress party including the primary membership of the party.

“The Indian National Congress has lost both the will and the ability under the tutelage of the conterie that runs the AICC to fight for what is right for India,” wrote Azad in his resignation letter to Sonia Gandhi.

“It is therefore with great regret and an extremely leaden heart that I have decided to sever my half-a century-old association with the Indian National Congress,” wrote Azad in a five-page resignation letter.

He also strongly criticised Rahul Gandhi in his resignation letter.
