NewsMobile fact-checked the viral image, and found it to be misleading.
Running a Google Reverse Image Search of the viral image, we traced a Facebook post on a page — Team Aamir Khan, dated August 7. The image matches exactly with the viral picture and the caption indicates that the picture is from a press meet that Laal Singh Chaddha’s team (Including Aamir Khan) had attended in Chennai.
We also came across various news reports about the press meet the team conducted in Chennai along with Udhayanidhi Stalin — actor, producer and politician.
Chennai Vision– a news agency from Tamil Nadu, posted multiple stills from the event on August 8, 2022, confirming that the press meet did take place in Chennai. The event was also covered by ABP News.
The actors’ outfits match exactly with the ones they’re wearing in the viral image.
News Reel 24X7, a Tamil news agency, has posted a YouTube video, dated August 7, 2022, showcasing Aamir Khan’s entry for the same event.
A tweet dated August 9, 2022, published by the Aamir Khan Productions account, has posted multiple visuals from the Chennai press meet. Here too, Khan’s outfit matches exactly with the viral image.
