Pacer Jasprit Bumrah Likely To Be Ruled Out Of Asia Cup Due To Injury

Date:

New Delhi: In a major blow to the Indian side, Jasprit Bumrah is likely to be ruled out ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup due to a back injury.

The Indian squad is likely to be announced in the coming days as the Asia Cup is scheduled to commence on 28th August.

According to a report by PTI, a senior BCCI official confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah has suffered a back injury and is likely to be missing from the squad. The official further added that “He is our main bowler and we would like him to be back in action before the T20 World Cup.”

Jasprit Bumrah took part in the ODI series against England and was later rested for the West Indies Tour. Bumrah might join the squad post Asia Cup, in the home series against Australia and South Africa in the month of September-October.

Bumrah has faced a similar kind of injury earlier in his career due to which he was out of the national squad for a while. India is all set to participate in the upcoming Asia Cup in Dubai. India will clash with Pakistan in their first game.
