India Scripts History In CWG 2022 With 61 Medals, Finishing Fourth In Standings

Birmingham: India marked a glorious end to the campaign of the ongoing Commonwealth games 2022 by finishing fourth in the medals tally on Monday.

India scripted history with a total of 61 medals which includes 22 gold medals, 16 silver medals, and 23 bronze medals ending fourth in the standings.

Earlier today on the final day of the game, India added six medals to the tally. Indian shuttler PV Sindhu clinched the first ever CWG gold medal in the Women’s single game by defeating Canada’s Michelle Li in the final.

Indian paddler Sharath Kamal clinched the gold medal in the men’s singles final after defeating England’s Liam Pitchford.

The men’s doubles duo of Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty clinched the gold medal after defeating England’s Sean Vendy and Ben Lane in the finals.

Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen secured gold after defeating Malaysia’s Ng Tze Yong in the final of the men’s singles category.

Earlier on Sunday, the Indian Women’s Cricket team bagged silver after losing a crucial game against Australia in the finals for the gold medal. The team showed exceptional courage and an outstanding comeback in the event after suffering a loss in the first game.

India marked its impact across games with some exceptional performance in wrestling, badminton, lawn bowl, judo, athletics, weightlifters, and even cricket.
