CWG 2022: Ravi Dahiya And Vinesh Phogat Clinch Gold On Day Nine, Pooja Bags Bronze

Birmingham: Wrestler Vinesh Phogat scripts history with a gold medal in the Women’s 53kg category. Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya clinches the gold medal in Men’s 57kg category taking the gold medal tally to 11 in the ongoing Commonwealth Games.

Wrestler Vinesh Phogat bagged the gold medal in the 53kg category on Saturday. With this, she becomes the first Indian woman to clinch three consecutive gold medals in the Commonwealth games.

Ravi Dahiya defeated Nigeria’s Ebikewenimo Welson in the finals by a margin of 10-0 victory. The ninth day of the commonwealth games was marked with several accolades and achievements.

The Indian wrestler was extremely dominant in the first period and did not let his opponent score and won the round by technical superiority.

Indian grappler Pooja Gehlot won the bronze medal in the Women’s Freestyle 50 kg category in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022. She defeated Christine Lemofack Letchidjio of Scotland.

Indian boxer Jasmine Lamboriya clinched the bronze medal in the women’s 60 kg Lightweight category after losing to England’s Gemma Paige.
