Twitter Heaps Praise As PV Sindhu Beats China’s Wang Zhi Yi To Win Her 1st Singapore Open Title

Date:

PV Sindhu defeated the world number 11 player Wang Zhi Yi, in the final of women’s singles at the Singapore Open 2022, on July 17, claiming her maiden title in Singapore and third title in 2022.

In the tight final match, Sindhu won against Wang, the reigning Asian Championships gold medalist, by scores of 21-9, 11-21, and 21-15 by keeping her cool in critical moments.

Wang Zhi Yi fought well till the end but Sindhu’s early advantage in the final game played a crucial role in the latter’s victory.

This was her third championship of the year—after winning two Super 300 crowns at the Syed Modi International and Swiss Open—and it was another addition to her brimming trophy case; including two Olympic medals and two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals from the World Championships.

From fans to famous personalities congratulate PV Sindhu on Twitter for the great win.
