Goa: Amid the recent development in the Congress camp in Goa, the sacked MLA Michael Lobo on Monday said that he was clueless about the sacking as all the MLAs were together in South Goa and he had requested the party about his wish to discontinue as the LoP.
Michael Lobo said that he also aligns with the Congress party and dismissed the possibility of walking over to the BJP.
He further added “We have won on Congress ticket and we are with the Congress party. We are with the Congress party so the question does not arise of having so many press conferences. I had told them that I was not interested in continuing as LoP. There are so many issues raised against me,”.
Congress leader Digambar Kamat who was also alleged of joining the BJP said that he is “shocked and stunned” at the developments and words used by the state party-in-charge.
He further urged the leaders of Congress to evaluate his performance in the party and claimed to lead the party from the front.
He also added that “If I wanted to go, I’d have gone. No one can stop me. But still, I led the party from the front, I went all out. And suddenly, they changed me from LoP when the results came in. I don’t know why he made such a statement. I’m in Congress, you can see my performance,”.
Both the leaders were earlier alleged by the party’s state in charge of hatching a conspiracy against Congress and joining the BJP. They further sacked Michael Lobo from the position of Leader of Opposition.
