An image of a crowded street is being circulated online with a claim that it shows people in Rajasthan protesting against the murder of a tailor in Udaipur.
Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor in Udaipur, was hacked to death at his shop by two people — Riaz Akhtari and Gos Mohammad — for allegedly supporting Nupur Sharma’s comments on the Prophet.

When NewsMobile fact-checked the post, it was found to be false.
We put the image through a Reverse Image Search and found the same picture in an article from 2015. The headline reads: “Telangana — Details about Hanuman Jayanti Shobha Yatra 2015.”
In April 2013, a blog post had also carried the same image, claiming that it was of the Hanuman Jayanti celebration.
In the picture, we could also see the board of ‘Jagdamba Boutique Ladies Hosiery’, located in Begum Bazar, Hyderabad.
Thus, we can ascertain that the viral image is quite old and from Hyderabad, NOT Rajasthan.
