Punjab Government To Restore Security Of 424 VVIPs

Date:

Punjab: The Bhagwant Mann government told the Punjab High Court that it will restore security cover of 424 VVIPs on June 7 after the gruesome assassination of Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

Earlier in May, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led government in Punjab removed the security given to several VVIPs in the state owing to reports of threats to their lives. Singer Sidhu Moosewala’s name was part of the list.

The AAP informed the High Court of Punjab and Haryana responding to a petition filed by former Minister OP Soni whose name is part of the list.

Soon after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) decided to restore the security arrangements of the VVIPs in the state, BJP lashed out at the party for taking a U-turn on the decision.

BJP leader Manjinder Singh in a tweet said that “The Kejriwal-Mann duo bite the dust; again. They refuted back in High Court on their claim of reducing VIP culture in Punjab by saying that it was a temporary withdrawal. AAP cheap stunt cost Punjabis a precious life. Punjab’s youth would never forgive them for their hypocrisy.
