Date:

Recently, a video surfaced on social media platforms, showing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi speaking to a group of people. And it is being claimed that the visuals are from the recently-held ‘Chintan Shivir’ in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

A Facebook user shared the video with a caption in Hindi (Original: चिंतन शिविर में युवराज को पहले थीम बतायीं जाती है, कहां क्या बोलना है समझाया जाता है और ये जनाब ख्वाब देख रहे हैं देश के प्रधानमंत्री बनने का।). English translation is: “In the Chintan Shivir, the prince is first told about the theme, explained what has to be said when and where, and he dreams of becoming the country’s prime minister.”

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral video, and found it to be shared with a false claim.

On performing relevant keyword searches, we found the same visuals being carried in an India Today report that was uploaded on YouTube on May 7, 2022.

“Kya Bolna Hai’: Rahul Gandhi Once Again in Spotlight Over Candid Video, BJP Attacks Congress MP”, reads the video title.

According to a report, the viral video was recorded when Rahul Gandhi visited Telangana on May 6, and addressed a public rally in Warangal. In the video, Gandhi can be seen interacting with leaders of the Telangana Congress.

The Times of India has also published a report on the video.

NewsMobile could not independently verify the context of the video, as the video predates the event in question and proves that the video is unrelated to Congress ‘Chintan Shivir’ in Udaipur.

Therefore, with the above information, it can be concluded that the video is being shared with a false claim.
