Mumbai: Keeping their hopes alive for the playoffs, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets on Tuesday at Mumbai’s Wankhade Stadium.
Winning the toss, KKR put Royals to bat. Skipper Sanju Samson’s 54-run inning helped RR put 152/5 in 20-overs.
While KKR had a slow start, the middle order came in for other the rescue and skipper Shreyas Iyer along with Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh glazed the team to victory in 19.1 overs with seven wickets in hand.
After Monday’s victory, KKR is in the seventh spot in the points table with eight points.
Meanwhile, table toppers, Gujarat Titans, will lock horns with Punjab Kings on Tuesday.
