Covid Update: UP Mandates Wearing Of Masks In Seven Districts

New Delhi: India observed a spike in the number of cases of Covid in the past few days. The number of new cases reported of Covid stood at 2,183 with an active caseload reaching 11,542 cases on Monday.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered the mandatory wearing of masks in public places. These districts are Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat, and Lucknow.

Noida and Ghaziabad have also been mandated to wear masks in public places.

According to reports, a player from the Delhi Capital camp has tested positive for Covid. The players are quarantined in the hotel.

Delhi reported 517 new covid cases in the last 24 hours.

According to reports, Niranjan Mishra, Public Health Director said that there is no need to panic. Except for seven to eight districts, others are reporting zero covid cases.

Air India stopped flights to and from Hong Kong till April 24 after three passengers tested positive. The passengers who want to travel need to carry a negative covid certificate along with them.

According to Reuters, Shanghai reported three deaths on Sunday due to Covid.

Shanghai on Sunday reported 19,831 new asymptomatic cases and 2,417 symptomatic cases.

Queensland in Australia reported 5,141 cases with four deaths in the last 24 hours.
