A video of a BJP flag on a police vehicle is being shared online with a claim that Telangana Police vehicle is sporting BJP’s party flag.
The video is being shared with the caption, “Telangana state Rachagonda police vehicle par BJP flags #telangana_cm_kcr_sahab #Telangana_Home_minister_mahemood_ali_sahab #DGP_sir_telangana #Telangana_police.”

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be misleading.
We extracted keyframes of the video and put them through a Reverse Image Search along with a keyword search.
The search led us to the same video uploaded on YouTube on March 27, 2022. In the video, we can see that a man, who is not in uniform, is holding the flag.
Taking a cue from this, we ran another search and found a report by Zee Telugu News where the same video was shared. According to the report, the video was of BJP workers waving party flags from a Telangana Police vehicle. The report also mentioned that the BJP workers were detained during a protest and were being transported to the police station.
From the above information, it is clear that detained BJP workers were waving the party flag and NOT Telangana Police personnel. Hence the claim is misleading.
