The Amarnath Yatra is all set to welcome devotees from June 30, 2022, on the day of Raksha Bandhan according to the tradition, with all the covid related protocols in place. Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha said that the yatra will last for a total of 43 days.
Earlier this month, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) announced the online registration of the pilgrims for the yatra from April. The board also said that an RFID-tracking mechanism will be used to track the movement of the vehicle during the Yatra. The facility of on-spot registration will also be set up for the smooth functioning of the yatra.
The IGP Kashmir in a statement said that “There should be an adequate use of gadgets and technology including CCTVs and drones to enhance the surveillance security grid.”
