A video in which an elderly man can be seen appealing to Muslims is being shared on social media with a claim that it is a deleted scene from the film ‘The Kashmir Files’, which is earning rave reviews for depicting the plight of Kashmiri Pandits and their forced exodus from the valley.
The video is being shared on Facebook with a caption in Hindi that can be roughly translated in English to, “The deleted scene of #TheKashmiriFiles which has been hidden from the audience, and the director Vivek Agnihotri did not look at such incidents!”

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be false.
We extracted keyframes from the video and did a Reverse Image Search which directed us to a YouTube video uploaded on September 5, 2019, which featured the same viral video. The video description read, “Save Kashmir | Old Man Crying To Muslims That | Where Are You Muslims.”
We found another YouTube uploaded on July 4, 2020, which featured the same viral video with the description, “What is happening in Kashmir, Kashmiri old man crying.”
Searching further, we found many YouTube videos uploaded in September 2019 that carried the viral video stating that it shows “Old Kashmiri Muslim crying for help.”
NewsMobile debunked the same video in October 2021, which was shared with a misleading claim.

Although we could not independently verify location of the video, it is evident from the above information that it has been on the internet since 2019 at least and hence, the viral claim is false.
