Using the InVid Tool, we extracted keyframes from the viral video and performed a Reverse Image Search. This directed us to a YouTube Channel that carried the same viral video on July 9, 2021, with the description, “This picture is of Dubulia block of Basti district, where Talewan Yadav was the candidate, this method of filing the form is absolutely correct, I wish everyone had answered their dictatorship in this way, then they would have known how much power they have now. to be given with stone.” (Translated from Hindi)
Taking a cue from this, we performed a keyword search and found the same video tweeted by a Samajwadi Party worker on July 9, 2021. The caption can be translated in English to, “When the BJP goons did not allow the Samajwadi Party candidate Shri Talewan Yadav to file his nomination from Dubulia block of district Basti, thousands of people from the surrounding area came out in support of Talewan ji, then did the BJP goons not even see the majal block premises.”
