BCCI To Probe Journalist’s ‘Threat’ To Wriddhiman Saha: Report

Date:

#CricketTwitter is abuzz after Wriddhiman Saha shared a screenshot of his conversation with a ‘reputed journalist’ who purportedly threatened him for not giving an exclusive interview.

Saha said, “After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone.”

Many former cricketers have backed Saha and asked him to reveal the journalist’s name.

Ravi Shastri, ex-India head coach took to Twitter to show his solidarity towards Saha. He tweeted, “Shocking a player being threatened by a journo. Blatant position abuse. Something that’s happening too frequently with #TeamIndia. Time for the BCCI PREZ to dive in. Find out who the person is in the interest of every cricketer. This is serious coming from ultimate team man WS.”

Virendra Sehwag tweeted, “Extremely sad. Such sense of entitlement, neither is he respected nor a journalist, just chamchagiri. With you Wriddhi.”

Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel tweeted his support to Saha and said the journalist must be exposed so the entire media fraternity does not get a bad name.

Media reports suggest that the BCCI will ask Saha to name the so-called journalist and take action.

Saha was recently dropped from Team India’s red-ball squad ahead of the upcoming bilateral series against Sri Lanka.
