In a bizarre incident, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) pilot refused to fly the plane mid-journey because his shift had ended. The plane which was scheduled to take off from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia for Islamabad had made an emergency landing in Dammam due to bad weather. Later, the captain of the flight denied flying from Dammam to Islamabad as his duty hours were over.
The passengers of the flight PK-9754, got agitated due to the reason provided by the pilot for not flying the plane and they refused to get off the plane in protest.
Later, the security personnel intervened to bring the situation under control. Hotel arrangements were done for passengers at the airport.
“A pilot should rest because it is necessary for flight safety. All passengers will reach 11 pm at Islamabad Airport until then all arrangements have been made in hotels,” said PIA spokesperson according to Samaa TV.
