A video is widely being shared on social media, in which an aircraft can be seen catching fire midair and then making an emergency landing on a bridge.
The video is viral with the claim that it is of airbus A380 making an emergency landing and is being shared with the caption, “A380 Pilot Got Promoted After Saved All 700 Passengers During Emergency Landing.”

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be fake.
On closely observing the video we noticed that the aircraft in the viral video is branded Qantas.
Taking a cue from this, we did a keyword search and found an article published by The Guardian on November 4, 2010. According to the article, Qantas A380 which had just taken off from a stopover in Singapore caught fire in one of the engines mid-air, damaging a wing and showering debris on the ground below.
A BBC report suggests that there were 433 passengers and 26 crew on board, and not 700 as claimed on social media.
On searching further, we found the same video was uploaded by a verified YouTube channel, ANHVTGA, on January 31, 2021.
As per the description associated with the video, it was a simulation video. The disclaimer associated with the video read: ‘Please understand that the events from my videos does not happen in real life. It is content from me playing my video games and recording it for entertainment purposes only’.

Hence, we can evidently conclude that the viral video does not show the A380 airbus catching fire in real.
