FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found that it is false and misleading.

Firstly, when we put the image through Reverse Image Search, we found that the same image has been in circulation since at least 2015.

The search also led us to an article by NDTV from 2019 titled, “Airports Authority’s Clarification After ‘Mistranslated’ Sign Goes Viral.”

We found a tweet by the official account of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) from 2019, where they have clarified that the viral picture is morphed.

Important Announcement from #AAI Since 2015, this morphed image shown has been doing rounds time and again. Requesting everyone not to circulate any such photographs without proper fact-checking,” they tweeted.

On June 9, 2021, the Minister of Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri also debunked the same picture, which is once again in circulation.

“Listen people. This is a morphed image doing the rounds since 2015. It resurfaced in 2019. AAI had pointed this out even then. Let us all do a bit of due diligence before putting such things out. Fake images & morphed pictures don’t do any good to people who are posting them,” he posted.

NewsMobile independently couldn’t access the original picture but the above information proves that the viral post is false and has been in circulation even after being debunked by government officials and even the civil aviation minister.
