Doctors say that White Fungus is more dangerous than Black Fungus because it affects lungs as well as other parts of the body.

Doctors at Patna Medical College and Hospital have confirmed 4 cases of White Fungus. All the four patients had reportedly shown COVID-19 symptoms but had tested negative in every test. Detailed investigation revealed that they were infected with White Fungus.

Health experts say that White Fungus infection is more dangerous than Black Fungus. This infection not only affects lungs but also other parts of the body including nails, stomach, skin, kidney, brain, mouth and even private parts.
White Fungus Symptoms & Who Is At Risk?
White Fungus symptoms are very similar to that of COVID-19. The infection can be detected by performing HRCT test.
Those with weak immunity and existing medical conditions including diabetes or those who are on steroids for a long time are at risk of contracting White Fungus infection.
Doctors say unlike Black Fungus, White Fungus infection spreads more easily to vital organs.
White Fungus infection may be risky for pregnant women and children according to reports. Hence, proper emphasis needs to be put on sanitization, cleaning of supplies and environment.
ICMR’s Take On Fungal Infections
Indian Council of Medical Research Director General Dr Balram Bhargava told the media on Thursday that the colour of the fungus depends on its growth. Fungal infections are commonly seen when there is dampness he said without specifically mentioning anything about White Fungus.
