PM Pulls Up Kejriwal In His COVID-19 Review Meet With CMs For Violating Protocol

Date:

Taking strong exception of the violation of protocol by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pulled him up during his COVID-19 review meeting with Chief Ministers.

Kejriwal was streaming the discussion live to which PM Modi said it is improper that a Chief Minister goes against protocol and established norms and streams an in-house meeting live. He told Kejriwal, “This is not right, we need to exercise restraint.”

Kejriwal tendered an apology to the Prime Minister and said he was sorry if any of his actions were found inappropriate.

Meanwhile, during the his interaction, Kejriwal highlighted the issue of oxygen shortage and appealed to PM to take strict action to contain the situation. He said else “there’ll be a tragedy”.

“There’s a huge shortage of oxygen in Delhi. Will people of Delhi not get oxygen if there is no oxygen-producing plant here?” Kejriwal said during the meeting with PM Modi on Friday. The meeting was also attended by other Chief Ministers.

“Please sir, we need your guidance,” Kejriwal told PM Modi.

“Please suggest whom should I speak to when a patient at a hospital in Delhi is about to die due to lack of oxygen supply? We can’t let people die. I appeal to you to take strict action, else there will be a tragedy in Delhi,” Arvind Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal had incidentally thanked the Centre for raising Delhi’s oxygen quota on Wednesday.

Centre had recently increased Delhi’s oxygen quota from 378 to 480 metric tonnes.

Kejriwal also appealed to the Prime Minister to facilitate airlifting of oxygen from West Bengal and Odisha to tide over oxygen shortage in Delhi Hospitals.
