Gurgaon: Portal Created For Registration Of Hospital Beds For Covid Patients

Date:

Amid the huge spike of fresh Covid-19 infections, Gurgaon administration sets up a portal where Covid-19 patients seeking hospitalisation can register themselves. The initiative was launched hours after Gurgaon ran out of vacant ventilators bed late Tuesday night. The move is now aimed at streamlining the process and prioritising critical cases.

The decision was taken after TC Gupta, in charge of the Covid management for Gurgaon, held a meeting with private hospitals. “Covid patients can register and upload their details for review,” he said, adding this could help resolve the current bed crisis in the city.

Registration Process:

According to officials, people can now sign up for hospital beds on the Covid portal – covidggn.com – under the ‘register for hospital bed’ section. They have to click on ‘Request Now’, following which a form opens up where they can fill out the patient’s details. “Once these requests are received, a list of patients will be prepared by the district administration, which will be perused by a team of doctors.

“After that, arrangements will be made to admit the serious patients in hospitals,” said a spokesperson of the district administration.

Meanwhile, the district administration appointed 22 nodal officers to monitor the bed status in 41 private hospitals that are treating Covid patients. The hospitals were asked to discharge stable non-Covid patients and not to admit non-serious non-Covid patients or non-emergency cases.
